DUMAS ROAD - MILL CREEK
Construction of 1,000 feet of 20’ deep sanitary sewer within a 30' existing right-of-way in ten calendar days.
Spotlight
Stringent construction schedule and partnering with multiple entities
Problem
Construction of 1,000 feet of 20' deep sewer down the center of a heavily traveled, 30' wide roadway in conjunction with related underground and surface improvements performed by other contractors. The construction schedule was limited to the designated road closure of no more than 10 calendar days.
Solution
The successful completion of the work within the project timelines was only achievable through complete cooperation among contractors, subcontractors, the City of Mill Creek, and the Silver Lake Water and Sewer District. Sajasa held daily meetings onsite with each stakeholder to ensure that everyone’s schedule and planned activities were conducive to the success of the overall construction program. Activities that were in conflict were resolved by giving way to the critical path activity.
Results
The sewer project was completed on time and 18 % under budget. Sajasa received written appreciation from the Silver Lake Water and Sewer District for the company’s “extraordinary performance and cooperation.”
